Onboarding cost calculator

What your next hire costs before they have the context.

A new hire is paid in full from day one. For the first few months, much of that salary buys questions, and every question costs a teammate's time too. Put in your own numbers.

Salary that buys questions, per hire
$30,000
Teammate time spent answering, per hire
$7,794
This year, across these hires
$188,970

Run Firstweek on your next real hire. 30 days. Then we talk about whether it's worth keeping.

How this is calculated

Salary that buys questions = annual salary ÷ 12 × months until fully productive × the share of that time they aren't yet productive. Teammate time = hours a week spent answering × 4.33 weeks a month × months × their hourly cost. Salary only, before benefits and before the cost of anything that ships late.

Every default here is an assumption, not a benchmark: replace it with your own. The one sourced default is the account executive's 6.2 months, The Bridge Group's 2026 average for B2B SaaS AEs and the highest in its research history.
